Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Acceptance
Awesome 42 is a non-commercial educational project built by 42 students. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms; material changes are announced on the platform and continued use means acceptance.
Eligibility and accounts
The platform is intended for 42 students, alumni, staff and companies invited to the jobs board. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secret and enable two-factor authentication if you handle sensitive roles (moderator, admin, company). You are responsible for everything done with your account. Misrepresenting your identity, campus or role is not allowed and leads to suspension.
Acceptable use
You are responsible for the content you post. Do not post illegal, harmful, harassing, discriminatory, sexual or infringing content, spam or advertising. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape other members, abuse the public API beyond your rate limit, cheat in games or daily puzzles, or manipulate rankings. Code submitted to the arena, the playground or the pre-evaluation check runs in an isolated sandbox; attempting to escape it, attack the host or other users, or mine resources is prohibited. The marketplace is a notice board only: transactions happen between members, outside the platform, and we are not a party to them. Selling prohibited goods or posting misleading listings is forbidden.
Content and licence
You keep ownership of what you create and grant the platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it to other members for the purpose of operating the service. Public contributions (resources, guides, answers, flashcard decks, dotfiles) stay available to the community under the licence you choose when posting, and are anonymised rather than removed if you delete your account. Private messages and files are deleted with your account.
Moderation and enforcement
Moderators and administrators may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts that violate these terms. Automated moderation may flag content for human review. You can appeal any decision by contacting the team. Repeated or serious violations result in permanent bans and, where required, notification to campus staff.
Jobs board
Companies publishing offers must comply with applicable labour and anti-discrimination law. The verified level shown next to a candidate is computed from platform activity and is provided as information only; we do not guarantee any skill, outcome or hiring decision.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. It may be interrupted, changed or discontinued at any time, in particular at the end of the academic project. We are not liable for data loss, downtime, decisions taken on the basis of platform content or interactions between members. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law and European Union regulations. Disputes are submitted to the competent courts of Málaga, Spain, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised through the project repository or the contact address listed in the README.
